The app
isift.app reads the Messages database on your Mac and builds a searchable copy of it, on the same Mac. That copy is encrypted with a key stored in your Keychain.
- Your messages, contacts and search queries are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- The app only reads the Messages database. It never changes, deletes or sends messages.
- Contacts access is optional. When allowed, names, phone numbers and email addresses are read on your Mac to show names and search by them; they are not stored in the copy.
- You can revoke Full Disk Access or Contacts access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
License activation
The app’s only network connection is to Lemon Squeezy’s License API (api.lemonsqueezy.com), to activate a license, check it again in the background and deactivate it. While the app is open, the background check runs about every 7 days after the last successful check; if the server can’t be reached, it tries again no sooner than 6 hours later. Activating, entering your key again and deactivating also contact the License API. It sends only the license key and a random identifier for this Mac’s activation — not your Mac’s name, and never your messages, contacts, searches or attachments. The free trial is tracked only on your Mac. The app has no analytics and no account.

Purchases
Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as reseller and Merchant of Record. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy collects what it needs to process the payment and taxes (such as your name, email, billing country and payment details) under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email and order details so we can deliver your license and support you. We never see your card details.
